Fitness Programming

Why is health and fitness the norm for comparatively healthy people, yet taboo or a luxury for people who’s quality of life depends on it most?

Health doesn’t come from eradicating illness. It comes from increasing wellness.

Exercise, and the right selection and progressions for you, are imperative to actually decrease the pain cycle.”

— Justine Feitelson

Example of individualized microcycles of exercise planning that regresses and progresses the basic patterns of movement: squat, hinge, single leg, push, pull core depending on the advanced training age of the adaptive athlete.

Example of frameworks to progress aerobic exercise sustainably, respecting where one’s tolerance is at.

Weakness or over-training adds to pain, but you must have the right frameworks to overcome this.

Most people with chronic pain have tried all the things that were asked of them from a movement perspective. They graduated PT, did group classes, went to a gym, hired a trainer, and tried various approaches to movement - yet are still in pain. What usually has not been done, is scaffolding in exercise selection appropriately, giving the nervous system time to.

adjust. The movement program must not only be the right exercise selection, but the right dose response and organization from a pacing perspective. Building strength without reinforcing poor muscular patterning is the key to getting out of pain more permanently, but it requires an individualized approach and adjustments along the way.
