Crossover Symmetry - use code JUSTINE15

  • Stability.

Corrective exercises and activations for the under-active muscles that get lengthened and weakened is just as important as releasing the overactive, stiff or spasming ones. Crossover Symmetry provides a system I can count on to get more neural drive to those inhibited areas that are especially affected by compensatory patters.

  • Strength.

Strength is only as good as the motor control and coordination you have. But typical bands can be a poor way to bridge the gap between bodyweight and more external resistance depending on the desired stimulus. Whether coming back from a surgery or just working to keep compensations at bay, these are a staple part of my training,

  • Posture.

Being in chronic pain and sedentary are some of the worst things we can do for posture. Hunching our upper back, anteriorly tipping our scapulas and shoulder, and clenching/flexing our jaw and neck while we accumulate tension in our traps ain’t the way folks! Crossover Symmetry gives me a system to counteract this.

  • Improved positioning

Makes up for a lack of dorsiflexion so you can stay more upright. Not being able to translate your feet further over your toes is compensated for then by an excessive forward lean like you see here that does not put your low back in a good position because it takes your glutes out of the equation.

  • Exercise selection

Allows you to do more squat variations you otherwise would not be able to do safely without artificial dorsiflexion essentially. For our torso to stay upright, we need range of motion at out ankles. While we work on that, this is a great way to create it artificially.

  • Resistance upgrades

The new FLEX model has awesome hooks where you can add on bands for some additional resistance. This is the biggest change over the last type besides it looking more stylish. The OG still works though and gets the job done!

  • Foot stability

Spreading em and splaying em is the name of the game with foot stability and it starts with your toes! When you loose neural drive to an area and stop activating it, muscles become harder to control and weaken.

  • Balance

This crowding results in a less effective base of support and affects everything upstream. Lack of proprioception also affects our stability. Working on our balance can help improve this and better understanding where we are in space.

  • Input/Exposure

Sensitization is exacerbated by limb guarding and not getting proper input or information from nerve endings you used to due to pain or other co-existing conditions like Reynauds. Getting increased sensory input and exposure is a key way to desensitize and loose less function.
